Artist Biography - Singer/Songwriter/Owner - (JKJ Productions LLC / Bentlegg Publishing Co.)
Growing up in Natchez, MS, I was fascinated watching my mother play the guitar, her sisters playing the piano, and joined by their two brothers creating great harmonies with their vocals. They were a very gifted family with strong gospel roots. I formed an A-Capella group in the 8th grade calling it "The Mustang 5", and competed in local talent shows. I Was the lead vocalist for a local group, in Natchez, called "The Soul Morticians" until joining the military in 1969, and was replaced by a 15 year old known to us as Alexander O'Neal. In New Orleans, I sung in my church choir until 1978, when a friend and I organized a group called "De'Sire, performing the sounds of Motown. Our first single was released in 1981 entitled, A side-"I Don't Care", and B side-"Feed on The Groove". . In 1988 thru 1991 , I organized a show group with two of my brothers and a female vocalist. The group was called "Below Zero". 1993 thru 1995, I joined a vocal group called "3 Smooth", and recorded a Cassette single entitled "Jump On It". Nov. 2001 - 2010, I joined Shades Of Praise "The New Orleans Interracial Gospel Choir", grounded in music and faith.. We have performed in many local settings. Recorded the "Spirit of Louisiana" commercial channel 4 WWLTV. We've toured "Ireland" giving 9 concerts in 12 days. and recorded numerous CDs.
Inspired by my love for Christ, I've composed, recorded, and released two solo CDs. The first entitled; "I'm Amazed" (How Much Jesus Loves Me). It was released March 06, 2012. The second entitled "Glory, Honor, & Power”. It was released on June 28, 2014. I spread the gospel through a blend of Gospel, R&B, and Old School music.
